The
"more" is coming from Edith. Today
was Saturday so we just took it easy here in Lake City.
We slept in later than usual, found the Lake City bakery on our morning
walk, had lunch in the cabin, took a little nap, and then watched the US women
win the World Cup. We were hoping a
score during regulation play would win the game, but it was a good game, and we
were happy to see America win. Carl
commented how different this game was from the Super Bowl or men’s soccer.
The commercials all had a feminist slant, there were not a lot of
dramatic falls to the ground in agony when fouls were committed, there was no
talking back to the referee, and the girls each got kisses from the heads of
FIFA.
After the game, we walked into town for supper. The meal was very good (Mammy’s Kitchen, Jim), but we passed on the ice cream tonight. Carl said there is a good movie on one of our cable channels. He also is reading his book a little (The Partner by John Grisham) and I am reading a book about teaching with love and logic. Tomorrow we plan to drive 25 miles back toward Creede to see some waterfalls that Carl’s friend Jim recommended.
Hope you liked getting two days in one,
Edith
P.S. Maisie Cromie: Can you make sure Ruth and Janice get these emails? I tried to call Janice tonight to get her address but the line was busy. Can you imagine that!
